History

Backstory
Born December 8, 1986. At age 13, accompanied her father's Katsuragi Research Expedition to Antarctica and encountered the Second Impact. Survived and escaped due to her father's sacrifice, but sustained chest injury and suffered aphasia from psychological trauma. Met Ritsuko Akagi at Tokyo-2 University and entered a romantic relationship with Ryoji Kaji. After studying abroad in Germany and working at Gehirn, assigned to NERV and became EVA combat commander. Shows a domestic side as guardian and superior to Shinji and Asuka. In the original theatrical films, injured and dies during the Strategic Self-Defense Force attack. In the Rebuild films, challenges post-Near Third Impact battles as Wille's captain.
