Earnest with a strong sense of justice, treated Kozue kindly while sometimes sternly advising her. One time, shielded a student attempting railway suicide and lost his life. In the anime version, succeeded in inheriting the family greengrocer business, helping with family matters after middle school graduation without attending high school. In the original work, had a driver's license and drove a motorcycle or car, dying in an accident on the mountain road returning from a supplier farm. The TV drama version adds a scene where he dies protecting a child.
