Shochiku staff member Masato Takanaka commissioned designer Kokoroyuki Okumura to create it, referencing the story of a cat that once lived in the fourth-generation Kabukiza, to make Kabuki more approachable and familiar. Debuted on April 29, 2017, at the Shochiku booth at Niconico Chokaigi.
