- Hotaru Tomoe is the only daughter of Souichi Tomoe, the director of the prestigious Mugen Academy. Four years ago, she lost her mother in a fire accident and was herself in critical condition, but survived as a cyborg through her father's research, having a Daimon's egg, the precursor to Mistress 9, implanted in her body. She is the reincarnation of Sailor Saturn, the warrior of destruction and rebirth, growing as she awakens to Saturn's power, but is compelled by fate to use destructive power. Meeting her friend Chibiusa provides emotional support, and through interactions with the Outer Senshi and numerous battles, she fulfills her role in the world's destruction and regeneration. After reincarnation, she rapidly grows in a healthy body under a new family, showing lively aspects but unable to escape her harsh fate, and even after being erased by Galaxia, she becomes a being of salvation.
