Fear of death and hatred amplified the curse, transforming it into a curse spirit (Tatarigami) covered entirely in reddish-black snake-like tentacles. Driven by intense destructive impulses from the curse, it becomes an existence that burns everything around it. It attacked Ashitaka's village and cursed his right arm.
