Gradually grows as a fighter through Saiyan saga and Namek saga. In Cell saga, temporarily becomes protagonist, awakens Super Saiyan 2, defeats Cell. Thereafter prioritizes studies and steps back as warrior, but in Majin Buu saga receives potential unlock from Old Kai and awakens as warrior again.
