History

Backstory: Raised as the legitimate son of Genbu Kururugi, Japan's last Prime Minister. Rebels against his father's ideals while respecting him, but tragically stabs him to death. Witnesses Japan's defeat as atonement with blood, developing the belief that 'for justice, one must not take incorrect methods.' After Japan becomes Area 11, voluntarily enlists as an Honorary Britannian in the military and rises as a Knightmare Frame pilot. Pursues his ideals amid suffering and inner conflict, entangled in complex relationships such as friendship and antagonism with childhood friend Lelouch, and feelings for Euphemia. Opposes Zero = Lelouch, but ultimately stakes his life for him, becoming the world's new leader as the Second Zero.
