History

Backstory
Born in 1875 in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. Grew up in a strict fundamentalist family environment, living a tumultuous life filled with childhood abuse and animal cruelty. After dropping out of Cambridge University, active as a poet, mountaineer, and occultist. Joined the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn to learn magic but was expelled. In 1904, during honeymoon with wife Rose in Egypt, received revelation of the grimoire The Book of the Law and founded Thelema. Deepened magical pursuits using sex magic and drugs while leading A∴A∴ and O.T.O. Established the Abbey of Thelema on Sicily in the 1920s, but expelled due to scandal. Struggled with financial hardship and drug addiction in later years, died in 1947 in East Sussex.
